Boo up early after 64 at Zurich Classic

Everyone is chasing Boo Weekley at the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Weekley fired 8-under-64 in the opening round playing int he morning wave at TPC Louisiana. He leads by two shots over Daniel Berger, who shot 66. The afternoon wave has yet to tee as the morning wave continues to buzz through round one action.

As a 125-to-1 betting pick at, Weekley scattered just one bogey on his round.

Among the pre-tournament betting favorites: Jason Day and Dustin Johnson carded 67s and sit at T-5 at the moment, while Justin Rose shot 3-under-69 playing in the morning.

Juli Inkster is 4-under through eight holes to take an early lead in the morning wave of tee times.
  • Suzann Pettersen, a 16-time winner on the LPGA Tour including two majors, withdrew this week from the California tour stop citing a shoulder injury.
  • The Champions Tour hosts the 38th Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf this weekend.
