Second Round Update — PGA Tour — Travelers Championship — TPC River Highlands — Cromwell, Connecticut —
Following his opening-round 62 Thursday at TPC River Highlands, Bubba Watson continues to lead the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship in Connecticut.
The top-ranked player in the field at No. 5, Watson 1-under through 11 holes on his second round to reach 9-under overall and holds a two-shot advantage over Zach Johnson. Watson is looking for his first victory of 2015. His last triumph was the 2014 Masters.
Keegan Bradley, Seung-Yul Noh and Brian Stuard are part of a group at 6-under and have yet to tee off in Friday’s round.
Watson, the pre-tournament betting favorite at 14-to-1 odds at www.skybet.com, won this title in 201o.
Several players coming from the Pacific Northwest from the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay were slow out of the gate on Thursday including Louis Oosthuizen, who was nine shots back after shooting 71. Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, Branden Grace and Billy Horschel all opened with 3-under rounds for a T-27 start.

- Tom Watson, the 65-year-old legend of the game, grabbed the overnight led at the U.S. Senior Open in Sacramento. Watson carded 4-under-66 which included a double bogey on his round. Michael Allen, Woody Austin and Lee Janzen are a shot back at 3-under. Watson opened as a 100-1 long shot to win the title.
- Rafael Cabrera-Bello (12-under through two rounds) leads the European Tour’s BMW International in Germany at the moment. Bello is two clear of Michael Hoey and Thongchai Jaidee, who is 10-under with handful of holes to complete. Jaidee was a 40-1 selection heading into the week. He last won in 2014 at the Nordea Masters.
- Morgan Pressel, Mo Martin and Ai Miyazato are 2-under and a shot back of the lead early on at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. Stacy Lewis is the defending champion.
