Kuchar, G-Mac near top at RBC Heritage

At 3-under through 10 holes in the second round, Morgan Hoffmann reached 6-under overall and has a one-shot lead over Matt Kuchar at the moment at the PGA Tour’s RBC Heritage.

Kuchar, the defending champion, is 2-under on his Friday round through seven holes. Graeme McDowell, who shot 5-under-66 in round one, is on the course at Harbour Town Golf Links and T-2 just a shot behind the leader.

Overnight co-leader Matt Every is 1-over through nine holes in Friday’s second round action. Sang-Moon Bae, who opened with 67, tees off his second round in the afternoon wave.

Masters champion Jordan Spieth stumbled out of the gate after a wild month of golf capped off with the Green Jacket and media tour. Spieth shot 3-over-74 with just one birdie in round one. He has regaining his form in round two — where he is 4-under through eight holes playing the back-nine to open his Friday round. He is currently T-30.

Spieth has Top 2 finishes in his last four PGA Tour starts.
