Weekend Preview – PGA Tour – Shell Houston Open – Golf Club of Houston – Humble, Texas –
Moving day at the PGA Tour’s Shell Houston Open arrives Saturday with Spain’s Sergio Garcia leading the way as the 36-hole leader.
Garcia shot 7-under-65 in round two, while others were tumbling down the leader board including overnight co-leader Charley Hoffman (65-76) and Keegan Bradley (66-77). A number of high scores at the Golf Club of Houston changed the leader board Friday in Houston.
Look for more of the same Saturday.
Garcia (12-under) led Matt Kuchar by a shot through two rounds. There was a four-way tie for third at 8-under featuring FedEx Cup leader Jimmy Walker and Matt Jones. Jones tees off Saturday with Kuchar and Garcia.
Steve Stricker and Rickie Fowler are in the Top 10 heading into the weekend.
Garcia, No. 8 in the Official World Golf Ranking, won the Qatar Masters on the European Tour in January. Kuchar was in the mix last week at the Valero Texas Open before falling short of victory.
Thanks to a quick two-shot swing, the World No. 11 Kuchar is now in the lead. He was a 25-to-1 betting pick at Ladbrokes.com heading into the week. Garcia was 20-1.
