Danny Lee slept on the lead after 18 holes at the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational.
Lee shot 5-under-65 to set the pace at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. He is early in his second-round now still holding the lead playing in his first WGC event.
Former major champions Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell are a shot back at 4-under. Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose opened with 67s on Thursday.
Brooks Koepka is 2-under through five holes in round two to work his way into a tied for 4th-place at 3-under along with Lee Westwood.
Lee, who opened the week as a 66-to-1 betting long shot at www.ladbrokes.com to win the title, captured the Greenbrier Classic earlier this season for his maiden PGA Tour triumph.

- The Champions Tour hosts the Shaw Charity Classic near the Canadian Rockies. Players tee off Friday in round one action. Colin Montgomerie and Miguel Angel Jimenez are co-favorites on the betting side as 5-1 selections.
- Jordan Spieth, who has a chance to overtake the idle Rory McIlroy at the top spot in the Official World Golf Rankings this week, shot even par-70 in round one alongside Open champion Zach Johnson, Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer. They finished day one T-22.
- Lee entered the week at No. 11 in the FedEx Cup standings.
- Zack Sucher fired a 63 in the opening round of the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship in Reno. Sucher posted 18-points in the Modified Stableford Scoring System thanks to nine birdies and no bogeys. He is three points ahead of Patrick Rodgers after 18 holes. Ricky Barnes is four points back.
