Second Round Update — PGA Tour — Zurich Classic of New Orleans — TPC Louisiana — Avondale, Louisiana —
Ben Martin continues his reign of terror at TPC Louisiana at the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Martin, who missed a number of cuts this season, reached 15-under through two rounds backing up his opening-round/course record 62 with a 5-under-67 Friday.
Looking for his maiden PGA Tour victory, Martin leads Seung-Yul Noh by four shots. He finished third earlier this year in Puerto Rico and was T-3 last week at the RBC Heritage. His second round here included a bogey at No. 17 and double at the 18th hole. He has 16 birdies and one eagle through 36 holes.
Charley Hoffman (9-under) is solo third at the moment, while J.B. Holmes sits T-4 after a 65 in round two. U.S. Open champion Justin Rose shot 67 Friday. He is T-10 at the moment, but nine shots off the lead.
Rickie Fowler, Ernie Els and Patrick Reed will apparently miss the cut.

- World No. 1 Tiger Woods is reportedly chipping and putting as he rehabs from surgery to repair a bulging disc in his back. His surgery was March 31st, but no date has been announced yet for his return.
- France’s Alexander Levy shot a 10-under-62 to assume control of the European Tour’s Volvo China Open. Levy, now 14-under overall through 36 holes, leads by four shots. Alvaro Quiros is third at 9-under.
- Stacy Lewis is 2-under through 15 holes in round two of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic near San Francisco. She is now tied for the lead at 5-under overall at the moment. Several players have yet to tee in the second round. Lydia Ko is 4-under with a few holes to complete.
- Matt Every, one of the pre-tournament favorites in New Orleans, withdrew after an opening round 76.
