Stacy Lewis and Pornanong Phatlum dueled over the final nine holes for the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters title.
Trailing Lewis by three shots, Phatlum mounted a charge including a key birdie to tie for the lead at the 17th hole. She tallied a 6-under-66 final round including a wedge to within a few feet at the 72nd hole to seal the victory with a crowd-pleasing, kick-in birdie.
Phatlum ended up 15-under overall with seven total birdies in the last round of the season finale on the Ladies European Tour.
Lewis, who led most of the week, was denied her fourth worldwide victory of 2013 with the runner-up finish at 14-under. She also lost in China on the final hole to Shanshan Feng with late heroics a few weeks ago.

- Wales’ Jamie Donaldson (16-under) continues to lead the Sunshine Tour’s Nedbank Challenge at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City, South Africa. The 29th-ranked player is three ahead of American Ryan Moore and Thomas Bjorn. Donaldson won the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in January.
- After a second-round 62, Tiger Woods leads his own invitational event at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge at 11-under. Woods takes a two-shot lead over Zach Johnson into the weekend at Sherwood Country Club in California.
- Sergio Garcia, Thongchai Jaidee and World No. 3 Henrik Stenson are T-4 at 11-under chasing Donaldson in Sun City with 18 holes to play. Donaldson was a 25-to-1 pick at Ladbrokes.com heading into the week.
- Woods, No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking, is looking for sixth title of 2013 and his sixth victory at the 18-player World Challenge in 15 years. The event features world ranking points.
