Rory leads way at Scottish Open

Rory McIlroy carded eight birdies against a lone bogey in the opening round of the European Tour’s Scottish Open.

The 25-year-old leads by a stroke at the moment, as several players are still on the course. Rory’s 7-under-64 was the best of the morning wave in Scotland.

Former World No. 1 Luke Donald is in the clubhouse after a 67. He sits T-5, while defending champion Phil Mickelson shot 3-under-68. He is T-8 at the moment.

Justin Rose (2-under) is playing his first nine holes at Royal Aberdeen.

Rory, 8th in the Official World Golf Ranking, was a 12-to-1 betting favorite at heading into the tournament.
