South Africa’s Charl Schwartzel swarmed Copperhead for a comeback victory at the
PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship.
His final round 67 earned his a playoff spot against Bill Haas and an eventual triumph — his second career PGA Tour title (he also won the Masters, of course).
Both Schwartzel and Haas moved up 11 places in the Official World Golf Rankings. Schwartzel is now 21st in the rankings, while Haas is 31st.
The Top 15 remained the same headlined by Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Bubba Watson and Rickie Fowler.
Rory and Day are among the favorites in the field this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Schwartzel opened the week as a 25-to-1 betting pick at Silverton Casino in Las Vegas.
