First Round – PGA Tour – RBC Heritage – Harbour Town Golf Links – Hilton Head, South Carolina –
Matt Kuchar, the top ranked player in the field at No. 6, carded a bogey-free 5-under-66 in the opening round of the RBC Heritage.
Kuchar’s T-5 last week at Augusta National was his third straight Top 8 finish on the PGA Tour without a victory. The 16-to-1 betting selection at Skybet.com is tied with Scott Langley and William McGirt at the top.
Harris English is alone in fourth place after a 68, while some 15 golfers are T-5 at 2-under including Jordan Spieth, Matt Every (who won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March), Lucas Glover and Billy Horschel.
Four shots separate 5th place and a tie for 77th after 18 holes at Harbour Town Golf Links.
Langley, 150-1 long shot, posted a front-nine 31 en route to his 66. The 24-year-old was third at the Valspar Championship during the Florida Swing.
McGirt, 175th in the world ranking, has a pair of career runner-ups on the PGA Tour, but he is looking for his first victory. He was T-6 earlier this season at the Northern Trust Open in California.
