First Round — LPGA Tour — HSBC Women’s Champions —
Former Rolex Ranking No. 1 players Inbee Park and Yani Tseng are tied at the top of the leader board following 6-under-66s in the opening round of the LPGA Tour’s HSBC Women’s Champions in Singapore.
American Angela Stanford, a former champion at this event, is alone in third with a 67 and current No. 1 Lydia Ko headlines a group at T-4 after shooting 68. Hall of Fame member Karrie Webb is also apart of that tie for fourth place after 18 holes along with Jenny Shin and Women’s British Open champion Mo Martin.
Stacy Lewis, Lexi Thompson, Carlota Ciganda and Anna Nordqvist are T-9 at 3-under and three shots back.
Tseng was a runner-up last week in Thailand and appears to be rounding into form after a long period of mediocre play after ascending to No. 1 and dominating the women’s game just a few seasons ago.
